Tahini, Chai + Orange Granola


Tahini for Breakfast, Lunch + Dinner?

For anyone who has been to one of our workshops, you will know how obsessed with TAHINI we are! 
Even better we have come up with a recipe that allows us to have it for breakfast as well!

Tahini is purely ground up sesame seeds.
Sesame seeds are extremely high in calcium, iron, protein, magnesium and vitamin E making them a power house for people who do not consume dairy products.

Tahini, Chai + Orange Granola 



3 cups oats

2 cups shredded coconut

1 cup almonds, roughly chopped

1 cup pumpkin seeds

1 cup sunflower seeds

4 Tbsp sesame seeds

4 Tbsp chia seeds

¾ cup raisins


2 bags chai tea

1 orange, juice and zest

2 medjool dates

¼ cup tahini

2 Tbsp coconut oil, melted

½ tsp ground ginger

½ tsp cinnamon

Pinch salt


Preheat oven to 170 degrees Celsius, line two baking trays with baking paper.

In ½ cup of boiling water, steep 2 bags of chai tea for 5-10 minutes.
In a large bowl combine all the dry ingredients together, except for the raisins and set aside. 
Remove the tea bags from the water and pour into a blender, add all remaining sauce ingredients. Blend until smooth.

Add the sauce to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined. Then spread
evenly over 2 baking trays. Cook for 15-20mins or until golden brown. While
cooking ensure that you keep a close eye on it and turn granola over often.
Once cooked stir through the raisins and leave to cool.
